BioThe grandson of Tezuka Kunikazu, a retired Admiral in the Seigaku Starfleet, Tezuka Kunimitsu enrolled in the Seigaku Starfleet Officer Training Academy as soon as he was able to. The serious young man made top marks and was soon a lieutenant in the Seigaku Starfleet. During the wars, Lt. Commander Tezuka distinguished himself in service, and after the war found himself Commander Tezuka for one of the Starfleet's largest ships. Tezuka Kunikazu died during the war, not killed in action, but rather in his sleep, peacefully, due to old age.
Tezuka Ayana died when Kunimitsu was 28, merely three months before he became Capt. Tezuka. Tezuka Kuniharu, forever a salaryman who had failed to make anything other than Ensign and had left the military the year he married Ayana, had never enjoyed the closest of relationships with his only son. After Ayana's death they slowly drifted apart, not from lack of goodwill though. They just never seemed to know what to say to each other.
Two months after he turned 30, Captain Tezuka Kunimitsu found himself named to the TP5 to replace Captain Yamato Yuudai, who had decided it was time for an early retirement. The appointment was a coincidence, Tezuka being the least offensive candidate to all nations concerned. Though young, he had a distinguished record of service few could hope to match, and no one really could find anything bad to say about him (besides some sideways jabs at a distinct lack of personality from his rivals). Perhaps the lack of personality was considered an asset rather than a disadvantage; in any case, Tezuka replaced Yamato in a takeover that began three months ago and ended when Captain Yamato Yuudai took a shuttle back to Seigaku yesterday.

Tezuka sighed inaudibly as he watched the shuttle leave. That was it, then ... he was officially in command of this ship. Yamato had poked fun of Tezuka as he climbed aboard; something about "burnt toast" and "fun". His gaze softened a moment as he watched the shuttle pull away. Even if his predecessor and Tezuka had ... somewhat different management styles, Tezuka had not disliked the other's company.
He straightened up, serious again. Now that he was officially in charge, it was time to shape up the place. Yamato wasn't a bad sort, but TP5 could use a lot more discipline. The two aides behind him stepped into place behind Tezuka as he headed back to the bridge.
Ahead, two ensigns were slacking off, smoking cigarettes in the hallway. Tezuka frowned. It was a no-smoke zone, and they were blocking traffic. They didn't see the captain approaching, and the two of them were joking about sneaking away from the engineering section while their section chief was turned.
"Ten laps around the station," a voice from behind them said. Both ensigns whirled to come face to face with Captain Tezuka Kunimitsu of the TP5. They gawked, and Tezuka glared at them from behind his glasses. "Now, or it becomes twenty."
The two ensigns looked at each other. Captain Yamato had assigned laps before, but Captain Tezuka was new, and a lot younger. Maybe they could try and talk their way around this? One opened his mouth to speak, but Tezuka cut him off. "Ensign Yamamura and Ensign Tanaka, Engineering. Fifty laps around the station, or cabin arrest for three months for insubordination."
The aides behind Tezuka tried to suppress amused grins as the two ensigns took off in a hurry.
Tezuka is housed in the Captains quarters on Blue deck with access to all areas.
